Profile

The globalisation of markets is significantly increasing the demand for the movement of merchandise, goods and services in the supply chain and logistics sector. To meet the challenge, MISC Berhad (MISC) through its subsidiary MISC Integrated Logistics (MILS) envisions itself to be a partner of choice in this sector. Part of this initiative is the formation of the MILS Logistics Hub (MLH) – a new generation, world class logistics facility offering the complete range of logistics services supported by a single integrated IT platform with a world-wide reach via the web

Located in Pulau Indah, Selangor, the development of the MLH has been divided into 3 phases of which the completion of the final phase will result in the formation of a 90,000 square meters multi modular storage and processing facility. The first phase, scheduled to be completed in December 2006, will provide 24,000 square meters of warehouse space. Other available services are inventory management, haulage and distribution services, freight and customs management and a container yard. Other value added services include cold store, Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), light assembly, Post Delivery Inspection, yard management, sterilisation and fumigation.

The MLH has been awarded Free Commercial Zone status. The logistics and value added services offered is accessible to MILS customers and partners, free of Malaysian Duties and Taxes with ‘ready to go’ regional market infrastructure. Thanks to its strategic location, the MLH has excellent sea, air, road and rail connections, supported by MILS self-operated land bridge (Singapore – Malaysia – Thailand). MILS is also supported by strategic alliances with MAS Kargo, POS Logistics and SterilGamma (fumigation and sterilisation service provider).

Through the MILS Logistics Hub, MILS aim to redefine the future of logistics in this region by providing a competitive Regional Hub solution as compared to neighbouring countries. Manufacturers and importers/exporters are now able to consolidate multi-country warehouses at a single duty-free location. The services provided by MLH in Pulau Indah will challenge the need to have multiple warehouses across the region as it serves to provide a more cost competitive and service effective solution in a politically stable and skilled manpower environment.
